I had an amazing Mother’s Day. My lil’ guy presented me with some artwork he created for this very special day.
After spending the whole day working in my yard planting herbs, flowers, adding enriched soil and mulch, my lil’ family grilled the food we selected from the Farmer’s Market earlier in the day.
I am such a lucky mama because I have this lil’ guy as my son.
This week’s photo challenge at The Daily Post is pattern.
If you are ever in or near Virginia, you simply must visit Grayson Highlands State Park. It is near Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain, Virginia’s two highest mountains. On one of our days of hiking, my lil’ family encountered beautiful wild ponies.
Part of the hike is on the Appalachian Trail and provides hikers respite at Thomas Knob Shelter.
It was a beautiful day and a beautiful hike that still makes me smile. Sometimes, it is the little things. Do you have a particular hike or outing that remains etched in your memory and replays in a loop in your mind?
This week’s Which Way challenge over on Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is Signs. I decided to choose a variety of signs that me and my lil’ family have encountered along our many hikes.

It was a gorgeous day here in Colorado, so I grabbed my lil’ family and headed outdoors. We had an amazing hike in Roxborough State Park. I got to see some signs of spring but also was able to have a snowball fight with the snow that was hangin’ around. Perfect day. Thought I would share a few photos of the wildflowers I admired along the trail.
These little teasers kept me smiling all day. Sometimes, it is the little things.
Posting these photos to remind myself that spring is on its way. Snow is melting on my front lawn as I write this post. I think the white, fluffy stuff is gorgeous, but I long for spring to get here.
Are flowers already blooming where you live? I have many bulbs that are resting under the snow that I am anxious to meet. Sometimes, it is the little things.
